Every piece, every order
We back every piece with a 10-year warranty on structural integrity. This is possible because we control the timber, the joinery, and the finishing — and because the material is genuinely that good.
Covered
Not covered
Surface care and maintenance is separate from the structural warranty. See our care guide for daily and annual maintenance instructions.
Contact us with photos and your order number
WhatsApp or email us a description of the issue and clear photographs. Include your order number — it is on your original order confirmation and material origin certificate. We respond within 1 business day.
We assess and confirm coverage
We review the photos and determine whether the issue is structural and covered under warranty. For clear structural defects, we proceed immediately — no extended back-and-forth.
On-site repair, wherever possible
Our preferred approach is to come to you. Our team visits your home, assesses the piece in person, and repairs it on-site where possible. This is faster and less disruptive than moving the furniture.
Workshop repair if needed
If the repair requires workshop tools — significant re-jointing, structural rebuilding, or full re-finishing — we collect the piece at our expense, repair it at the Edavanna workshop, and redeliver. We agree the timeline with you before the piece leaves your home.
A 1-year warranty on furniture that claims to last 200 years is a contradiction. We warrant 10 years because that is the period within which any manufacturing defect in structural joinery would become apparent under normal use — and because we are confident it will not.
Traditional mortise and tenon joinery, built from correctly dried wild teak, does not fail in 10 years. If it does, the fault is in the craftsmanship — and that is our responsibility to correct.
Yes. The 10-year warranty is attached to the piece, not the original buyer. If you sell or gift a Royal Nilambur piece, the remaining warranty period transfers to the new owner. Keep the original order documentation as proof of purchase date.
Joint failure, frame instability, cracking along a glue line, or any movement in the structure that affects the piece's usability under normal conditions. Surface issues — scratches, minor dents, finish wear — are not structural defects and are addressed through care and maintenance, not the warranty.
Our furniture is designed and warranted for indoor use. If a piece intended for indoor use is placed outdoors and develops structural issues from weather exposure, this falls outside warranty coverage. If you need outdoor-rated furniture, let us know at the time of order and we'll advise on finish specifications.
Our team assesses the issue and attempts an on-site repair first — typically completed in one visit. If the piece needs to come back to the Edavanna workshop for more involved joint work or re-finishing, we aim to return it within 2–4 weeks. We agree a timeline with you before any piece leaves your home.
